Trent Reznor Knows How to Drown an Angel

Yesterday, Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor's new project, How to Destroy Angels, released their first MP3 over on Pitchfork. It's titled "A Drowning" and it sounds like what you'd imagine from a Reznor-helmed musical act.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're a NIN fan and/or the idea of a song that comes off as a combination of Still and With Teeth sounds promising*. It's leagues away from the aggressive Nine Inch Nails we all (should) love, but it's the kind of slinking coitus-soundtracking we've heard from Reznor a few times before.

In case you didn't know, How to Destroy Angels is Reznor teaming up with his new-ish wife, Mariqueen Maandig (she supplies the track's vocals). According to the interwebs, a self-titled debut EP is due out this summer. If "A Drowning" is any indication, they're off to a good start.
