It's October, It's Autumn and It's Time For Another Mixtape

The weather lately has been a little bizarre. September reared its ugly head and Brooklyn got all sorts of chilly, then just a few days ago, it's 80° in the city. Now, my short-wearing will likely extend into November (Michigan blood), but that won't stop the leaves from turning or my appetite for pumpkin pie and football from spiraling out of control. Below is a collection of songs I threw together for the season-changing occasion, but don't expect any jubilant bangers--this October mix is a more somber affair...

Citizen Mix Vol. VIII - Fall's a Comin'

Tracklist:

1. Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross - White Sun
2. My Bloody Valentine - You Made Me Realise
3. Death Cab for Cutie - Company Calls Epilogue
4. Big Troubles - Misery
5. Woods - Down This Road
6. Real Estate - It's Real
7. Black Glove - That's All Midnight (M83 x Gucci Mane)
8. WU LYF - L Y F
9. The Gangsters - Best Friend
10. Radiohead - A Punch Up at a Wedding
11. The Replacements - Answering Machine

MP3s: Vol. 3 of Radiohead's King of Limbs Remix Series

In a diligent effort to chronicle Radiohead's musical posterity, I'm hosting Volume Three of their oft-reported King of Limbs remix series.

With contributions from Four Tet and Lone, this might be the series' strongest set so far, blowing Vol. 2 out of the water and further exposing just how much of an electronic record King of Limbs really was.

Coming Right Up, Some More of Those Radiohead Remixes

So here it is, Volume 2 of the oft-reported Radiohead King of Limbs remix series. Though this batch isn't as strong as Volume 1, I'm still looking forward to each and every one of these electro installments.

Radiohead Killed It on Their Latest From the Basement

As you may remember, Radiohead were due to play all of King of Limbs on Nigel Godrich's From The Basement web performance series. Well, the show premiered abroad two nights ago, but thanks to the miracle of the internets, you can watch the whole thing on the YouTubes.

The biggest story (for me, anyways) was that the band performed two new tracks, the formerly blogged "Staircase" and the McCartney-eque "The Daily Mail." You can download HQ rips of both standouts below.

MP3s: Those New Radiohead King of Limbs Remixes

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Radiohead, but the first volley of these King of Limbs remixes are pretty great--fitting for an album that so rigidly stuck to electronic music blueprints.

MP3: Brand New Radiohead - "Staircase"

Wait, where did this come from? Seemingly out of nowhere, Radiohead have graced the internet with a brand new track this morning. Titled "Staircase," the song's in line with the band's most recent King of Limbs sound--heavy on rhythm, repetition and smooth bass lines--though I may like it more than just about any other cut from that record. Well done, sirs.

The video above is part of Nigel Godrich's From The Basement web performance series, which will host Thom Yorke and co. for the third time on July 1st. And while they'll probably be playing most of King of Limb (and "Staircase"), fingers crossed for a least one more new track. Grab a HQ MP3 down below...

MP3s: Radiohead's Record Store Day 12"

As Radiohead fans were already well aware, the band released two new songs on Record Store Day: the Supercollider / The Butcher 12". You were able to stream vinyl rips of both tracks as early as last week, but HQ MP3s have unsurprisingly found their way onto the interwebs.

Anyone who thought The King of Limbs was too brief can find the solid tracks down below...

Radiohead Release "The King of Limbs" One Day Early!

It's 1:15 PM and by now, even my grandma knows Radiohead digitally released their new LP today. For those too lazy or poor, I'm hosting The King of Limbs down below.

I already gave it two spins this morning and can confirm that Radiohead again showcase their inability to make a bad record; Christmas has indeed come early.

Radiohead Announces New Album, "The King of Limbs"

In news that’s by now ubiquitous, Radiohead is releasing a new album on Saturday. As in February 19th. As in five days. It’s titled The King of Limbs. Wow.

Sadly, In Rainbows' "pay what you want" model has been abandoned, but the band is offering a limited-edition LP, chock full of clear vinyl and exclusive artwork. All that physical goodness doesn't ship out until May, but anyone who pre-orders the soon-to-be collector's item gets a digital download come Saturday.

Details here + quoted below...

"Radiohead's new record, The King of Limbs, is presented here as the world's first* Newspaper Album, comprising:

- Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
- A compact disc.
- Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork
and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
- The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download
that is compatible with all good digital media players.
- The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011.
You can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
- Shipping is included in the prices shown.
- One lucky owner of the digital version of The King of Limbs
purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl.
- *perhaps"

Yeah, I already pre-ordered mine.

Radiohead Release Fan-Shot Concert Film, Fo' Free

So in late August last year, Radiohead played a show in Prague. This normally wouldn't be news (unless you live in Prague), but a bunch of fans used Flip cameras to bootleg the show. Thom & Co. backed the amateur concert film, supplying the video with soundboard recordings of the performance.

You can download entire experiment, called Prague DVD, for free in every format imaginable or watch specific songs via Youtube.

Download it by clicking here.
